How to use the Image rotator and flipper online

01

Open your image

Choose a PNG, JPG, or WebP still image. Its dimensions are checked before editing; the preview shows the full transformed canvas.

02

Set an angle and mirror direction

Choose an angle from −180° to 180°, then optionally flip horizontally or vertically. The canvas expands for the rotated bounds so the original corners remain visible.

03

Choose a format and save

Download PNG or WebP when you need transparent corners, or JPG with a chosen matte. Check the displayed output dimensions before saving.

Straighten a tilted image or correct its direction

Use small angles to correct a sloping horizon or rotate by a quarter turn to change orientation. The output canvas follows the full rotated bounds instead of using the original rectangle and clipping the corners.

An arbitrary angle usually increases canvas dimensions and leaves empty corners. PNG and WebP can keep these areas transparent. JPEG fills them with the selected opaque matte. Use the cropper afterward when you want a tighter rectangle.

Flip a cutout without changing its background

Horizontal mirroring reverses left and right; vertical mirroring reverses top and bottom. Both can combine with rotation, which helps prepare an illustration, product view, or overlay for a specific composition.

Rotation redraws the image through the browser canvas. Non-right angles use interpolation and can soften fine detail. The tool does not correct perspective, reconstruct hidden pixels, or preserve the source metadata.

PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Image rotator and flipper questions and answers

Formats, useful settings, and the details that affect your result.

Can I rotate an image without losing its corners?+

Yes. The output canvas expands to contain the full rotated bounds. Empty corners are transparent in PNG or WebP, or filled with a matte in JPG.

Why is the rotated image larger in width or height?+

At most angles, a rectangle occupies a larger bounding box. The expanded canvas keeps the full image instead of clipping it to the original dimensions.

Can I flip and rotate at the same time?+

Yes. Horizontal and vertical flips can be combined with the chosen rotation. Review the result, especially any text or directional details.

Will rotating change image quality?+

Canvas redraws the image. Non-right angles use interpolation, which can soften edges. PNG avoids a further lossy encoding step, but does not undo that resampling.

How can I remove the empty corners?+

Open the exported result in the image cropper and choose a tighter rectangle. Cropping removes some outer image content, so review the frame before downloading.
